An Invitation to Join Community Lincs at a Public Broadband Meeting

Following the success of our first public meeting on October the 4th in Woodhall Spa, we would invite you join us on Thursday the 18th of October at NKDC Offices in Sleaford for the second of our Public Meetings. A turn out of over fifty in Woodhall Spa ensured that there was a lively debate!

Many residents and businesses in rural areas across Lincolnshire are being affected by slow Broadband speeds. This is restricting access to the internet and all the services it is able to provide. At a time when many support services and commercial activities are being transferred on-line a lot of rural communities are becoming more excluded from the wider world.

The Lincolnshire Broadband Project has been set up to address this problem and through its work hopes to have 90% coverage for Superfast Broadband across the county by 2015. To achieve this goal the project needs wide public support to demonstrate the level of demand in the county and the desire of people to use an improved service.

This is Community Lincs second public event, if you can’t make it then perhaps you would like us to come to your village and explain the project. We will cover what is happening, what is going to happen and how individuals, communities and business can influence the rollout and location of Superfast Broadband. These are an opportunity for people to learn more about the whole issue, how Broadband can benefit them and how they can use their collective voice to impact on the project.

Remember the event is on the 18th October at the NKDC Offices, Sleaford. For further detail please contact Ian Ransom on 01529 301969. If you cannot make the events, register your demand at www.onlincolnshire.org.
