Theft of Oil

Lincolnshire Police have issued the following message to North Kesteven District Council for notification to local communities:

Please could I ask that you be aware that there have been increased cases of the theft of oil from oil tanks at some village areas, namely at community facilities (village halls etc). I am therefore sending you this correspondence to yourselves as Community Leaders, and with some responsibility for these types of locations/facilities.

This type of offence, obviously has a significant impact on you if you become a victim, and we urge that you give due consideration to raising awareness at venues within your respective Ward and Parish areas, that have oil tanks to be mindful of this type of crime, and checking that your oil tanks are secure.

There is some excellent crime prevention advice and guidance on the Lincolnshire Police website that can be accessed, which I would urge you to look at and share with your colleagues.
