Call for Nocton Doodle Articles and Info

    I was fascinated to see a reference in a Nocton Doodle article about the village in 1861 a reference to Elizabeth Robinson the postmistress in that year. She was my great great grandmother. She was married to George Robinson a labourer and their eldest son William was a groom at Metheringham but by 1861 had moved to Harrogate. He had three sons, the middle one, Elisha, was the one my family is decended from. I intend to visit Nocton at some point as I understand to old post office building is still there.   2. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write Martin. It is always interesting to have others contribute to the history of Nocton. I'm hoping this blog will build to become a useful archive of information about the village and its people over the years.
