Garden Waste

Plans for garden waste collection charge in Lincolnshire district

'Residents in North Kesteven could face a £25 annual charge for their garden waste bin collection if council plans are passed at an executive board meeting on Tuesday.'

Q1: Will people choose to place their 'green' waste in the black bin if this charge goes ahead?

Q2: Will the District Council remove the now unusable brown bin, as it will be taking up space for no reason?

Council board 'reluctantly' approve garden waste collection charges in Lincolnshire district

'New charges for garden waste collection in a Lincolnshire district have been approved by the North Kesteven District Council Executive Board, this afternoon.

Full membership of the council will now take the final decision on the charge on December 13 after the board 'reluctantly' recommended it as a cost saving method.'

Councillor Marianne Overton

Your local County Councillor spoke up at full Council to make a proposal for the decision to be deferred in order for this to be considered by 'scrutiny and public in the usual budget process'. Unfortunately, despite her best efforts and those of others, the amendment failed and the charge will therefore be applied from next April
