Flooding

Nocton Hall

The woodland and track approaching the gates to the rear of All Saints Church are so waterlogged, the route is virtually impassable to anyone not wearing wellington boots.

All Saints Church - rear gates

I have been walking the dogs through this woodland ever since moving to the village in 2005 and I've never seen it this bad.

It is now beginning to saturate the woodland down towards the old carriageway to the Hall and if this continues, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the trees die back because their roots are constantly in standing water.

Let's hope the weather improves as the first day of Spring is nigh.

Nature lies dormant ahead of first day of spring

'Conservationists report lack of budding plants, animals returning to hibernation and migrating birds held back by wintry weather.'
