Christmas Fayre

Success

It appears the Christmas Fayre held in Nocton Village Hall yesterday was a great success. There were numerous stalls piled high with tempting items - the new chairs were in use for the first time too.

There must have been over 100 visitors during the afternoon, as the entry fees paid 'on the door' provided a good record of throughput. As ever, there was a healthy hubbub as people bumped into friends and acquantances, to have a natter and then carry on browsing and buying.

The various raffles were well supported, with refreshments going down well with visitors. Buns, scones, mince pies, teas and coffees were on sale. Perhaps next year the bar could be opened so that visitors can have a seasonal drink too?

The new Christmas decorations were festooned from the ceiling looking wonderful. There was also the obligatory tree with new lights twinkling. The 200 Club for November was drawn by Father Christmas and the winners announced.

In addition, there was the large Christmas tree at the front of the Village Hall, which was switched on to give a festive cheer to all passers by.
