Stephen Phillips MP

Nottingham to Lincoln railway

An interesting Parliamentary debate which teases out the real reason why improvements to this East-West line are stagnating.

'... it is for Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire county councils and the LEPs—D2N2 and Greater Lincolnshire — to determine whether investment and enhancement to services on this route to improve connectivity and support local economies is a priority for their strategic economic plans and should be included in a bid for funding to the local growth fund.'

LEP = Local Enterprise Partnership
D2N2 = The Local Enterprise Partnership for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire
