Village Hall

33rd Annual General Meeting

It was good to see a healthy attendance of local residents at last night's meeting. Sue Morris was Chairperson for the business of the AGM, giving a report of the outgoing Committee. A copy of the 2013 AGM Minutes were handed out, together with the accounts for the year ended 30 September 2013.

A number of questions were raised about the accounts to obtain clarification, but overall the figures were welcomed with a profit outturn for the year. A much needed improvement over the previous year which showed a loss position.

The old Committee then retired to allow Kate Tyler (Parish Council Chairperson) to take the Chair for the 2014 Inaugural Meeting under the New Constitution.

Inaugural Meeting

The Parish Council Chairperson welcomed all attendees and those putting their names forward to serve the village as Officers, Village Representatives or Representatives of Affiliated Groups. Thanks were also expressed to those who served on the previous Village Hall Management Committee over many years and for all their efforts.

A transcript of the main introductory remarks is enclosed.

After the Affiliated Groups confirmed their nominees, the business moved to identify the applications of candidates for the Committee and those relating to the Officer positions.

The election and appointment process then took place, with the following result:

Officers
  • Joan Franklin (Treasurer)
  • Doreen Green (Secretary)
  • Lorna Storr (Booking Clerk)

Village Hall Management Committee
  • Mark Cunningham (Nocton Community School)
  • Jacky Free (Nocton Art Group)
