To the Occupier

Our ref: Nocton Village Electricity reinforcement works

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inform you of the details of the work we are undertaking in your area. We are upgrading and reinforcing our network to improve the security of the electricity supply, and this will involve installing a new high voltage underground cable. The new cable will follow the pink highlighted route as shown on the map on the reverse of this letter. The works are due to take place from 27/09/15 and will last approximately 7 weeks. Your power supply will not be interrupted and we will not need access to your property.

During the works there will be vehicles working in the road, but access to your property will not be obstructed for any longer than necessary.

We will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum throughout the duration of the works.

I apologise if this causes any inconvenience but I can assure you it is necessary for us to carry out this work for the security of your electrical supply network.

If you have any other questions or problems please contact me on any of the details above.

Thank you

Richard Ellis

Emails for clarification

Good morning Richard,

Thank you for the letter notifying residents of the impending reinforcement works.
With many residents having access to the highway for their vehicles along the route of the new supply, can we be assured that access and egress to properties will be maintained across any trench works that may be necessary for laying of the cable?

If there is a likelihood of difficulty in getting vehicles out, it would be useful to know in advance so that arrangements can be made e.g. if one has to get to an airport for a holiday, or if there are other important appointments.

It would be helpful if this can be clarified.

Kind regards,
Geoff

Hello Geoff

As you have seen we will have to dig across access to residents properties. Our contractors are used to carrying out this type of work and will talk to the affected residents before starting work and will work with them to minimise disruption and inconvenience.

I would ask residents to talk to the excavation teams with any concerns they have and if they cannot be resolved please contact me on the numbers below 08:00 – 16:00 weekdays.

It is inevitable that any work of this nature will cause some inconvenience but the work we are carrying out will help ensure the village of Nocton has a more secure and robust electricity supply for years to come.

I ask for residents understanding whist the works are carried out. If you require any further information please contact me.

Regards
