Caravan Site

'Caravan Site Approved!!!

Just like to thank everyone in the village who has supported the application for a CL site in Nocton. This includes the 8 people who made the time to write to the caravan club in support, the three couples who visited the proposed site and the Local Parish Councillor who also made a visit.

Thanks also go to The Parish Council for their support of the venture, North Kesteven District Council who support the site for the promotion of tourism in Lincolnshire and finally for Highways who also deemed the CL site suitable for the village.

I hope to welcome friends and family of those of you who have already "pre-booked" a pitch with me! I hope to be up and running by Easter 2014.

Kind regards, Diane Leek.'

N.B. the text above was obtained from a notice pinned to a telegraph pole outside Kelkherd House:

Extract from Parish Council Minutes dated 5 November 2013

'Application for Caravan Site: Kelkherd House, Main St, Nocton.

Whilst the Parish Council agreed not to comment specifically on the principle of a Caravan Club site at Kelkherd House, it asked the Clerk to raise villagers’ concerns about access issues associated with the site and the Parish Council’s own concerns about this and the original planning application process with the Caravan Club and NKDC respectively.  The Clerk also undertook to inform the Highways Authority about the potential access problems.'

Extract from Parish Council Minutes dated 3 December 2013

'Cllr Goldsworthy highlighted the continued lack of a response from NKDC about the proposed caravan site at Kelkherd House, Nocton. The Clerk undertook to write to NKDC again expressing the Parish Council’s ongoing concerns, and to copy the letter to Cllr Kendrick, NKDC.'

What is a Certificated Location?

'A Certificated Location is a 5-van site for the exclusive use of Caravan Club members. Each year we issue a certificate to those sites that continue to meet our standards and for this reason we call them Certificated Locations (or CL's).'
