Report of WI AGM – March 2014

During our AGM we vote in our Committee and President for the coming year.  After serving on the Committee since 1989 in many capacities but mainly as President, Doreen Green, decided to resign but will continue coming to the WI as an ordinary member.  Another stalwart of the WI since 1989 is Ann Kennedy who has sadly resigned from the WI but we hope she will come and visit us when she can.  We are very grateful for all the work Doreen and Ann have done for the WI over the last 24 years.

The officers this year are Barbara Nicholson as President, Jacky Free as Secretary, Jenny Kaye as Treasurer and Vee Byrne as Programme Secretary.  Jane Kania and Christine Metcalf will also serve on the Committee.  Janet Goldsworthy and Maria Hall are stepping down after a very successful year as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer – our thanks to them both.

We have been knitting teddies, which we will take to our annual conference at Skegness at the end of the month. These will be used by the Police to take to children who are involved in any disaster.
We finished off the evening with a quiz, which had us thinking very hard but not always as successfully as we would have liked!
