Nocton Fen Wind Farm - cathedral view

Test-case wind turbine will ruin cathedral view, say Lincoln locals

'Lincoln Cathedral defines the landscape for miles in each direction...'

Do we really want to see wind turbines in these images?

My photographs have been taken from Lincoln Castle looking out towards the proposed wind farm site on Nocton Fen. However, whilst these views will no doubt be contaminated by the erection of twenty 149.5 metre high turbines, I fear the worst blight will be to the view of  Lincoln Cathedral from afar.

Lincoln Cathedral is such a dominating feature on the top of the hill as one approaches Lincoln from all directions. It is a sight that welcomes every traveller.

“It would completely ruin centuries-old views of one of the most majestic buildings in Europe.” (Lord Cormack)
