Look after yourself

NHS Health Check

Everyone is at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes or kidney disease. The good news is that these conditions can often be prevented, even if you have a history of them in your family.

The free NHS Health Check is for adults in England between the ages of 40 and 74.

Your blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI will all be checked and your results given to you. The check is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.

It will give you and your GP a clearer picture of your health and help you take action to reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, type two diabetes and kidney disease.

For further advice about a free NHS Health Check, visit the One You website or NHS Choices.
